"Today the greatest challenge in publishing is distribution and discoverability. As a result, sites like [PictureBooksReview] are more important than ever to discerning readers, new authors and independent publishers."
-Steve Floyd, chief executive officer of August House books

"The interview is so amazing! I appreciate you picking up on all these aspects of what I've been doing. It's always great to talk with someone who understands what goes into these things."

- Jose Lucio, self-published author of Heave Ho!

Write for us!

PictureBooksReview is seeking submissions for picture book reviews. This is your chance to be famous!

Where to Send: picturebooksreview@gmail.com. Please include the word "submission" in the subject line. I would like for the body of the e-mail to have your name and the title of the book you're discussing, but I would like for the submission itself to be attached as a word document.

What to Send: Short posts, 200 - 500 words. At the heart of what you send, there must be a picture book. One picture book per post.

Longer pieces, 1,000 - 3,000 words, incorporating several picture books within a larger themed narrative.

Formatting: I have no specific qualms about formatting, other than it should be easy to read, spell-checked, and not be just one massive block of text. I'm a fan of paragraphs. I'm also a fan of artwork. Any digital scans of pages of the book would be great, or any other visual aides which you think would spruce up the place.

The Paperboy can fly. Can you fly?
What not to Send: You may absolutely not submit a review of your own book, or a book for which you are in any way responsible. If you are an author/illustrator/publicist and you would like your book to be reviewed, please do contact me. Some of my favorite books I've discussed on the site have been self-published masterpieces.
